Thursday:
I just got finished taking the DH comp thru the test ride after tensioning the rear wheel and putting the linkage back together. It's very exciting to be racing again, even if it is on a 54 lbs. Tank!
Mike Hombus is going to go and take photos... (edit: he flaked out) He lives at 516 mimosa street. By the hospital.
And by "very" exciting i mean that i get a feeling of elation just looking at the bike and anticipating making fun runs. It rained like holy hell last night but is good today and all weekend so we should have good conditions for Sunday! Hells yeah!
Friday I took a halfday off and got to practice around 2 pm. The conditions were great considering there was a lot of rain on the east coast on wednesday. I got five or six practice runs in before they closed the practice 35 mins Early. My legs were burning pretty bad after three runs so i took a break and talked to Stephan for a bit. I had a low speed crash, on the last run, after the s turn around the tree with rocks, but then again, most of my riding was low speed. I got a bit faster on my second run but I lost the chain 4 times and my rear brake lever kept coming loose, rendering it useless. For race day I put a zip tie around it to keep it from coming loose.
Sunday I got up at six and was there just after 8, just after they opened the lifts. I got in another four? Runs, maybe five before 11am. We had our runs early in the day and I was out by 2:30, there were a lot of delays at the beginning. My race run went quite well and A photog got a pretty good snap of me in the new jump after the second fire raod, i hope to post soon. It was a clean, fun, and no mechanical problems. I said goodbye to Stephan and sean and went home.
